Sean - Congratulations on your acquisition of HERON and welcome to the Hinckley Pilot 35 Association and website. The book Pilot 35 was published in May, 1984 and is thus considerably out of date. This HPA website is intended to update the owners' spreadsheet in the book. It appears that your HERON is Pilot #3579 (Hinckley Hull #1199 on the little plate on the companionway ledge). She is the 79th out of 117 fiberglass semi-custom Pilots built by Hinckley between 1963 and 1975. She was ordered in the fall of 1966, built for Russell A. Potter and launched as CONSTANCE in the spring of 1967. Her original hailing port was Alexandria, VA.; she had a Westerbeke diesel and wheel steering. Original topsides were "Sky Blue" with white boottop and blue bottom. Exterior teak was natural (not "bright").
If you still want a book, send me a check for $15 to 1544 Elgin Court, Keswick, VA 22947 and your address.
