Are there any copies of this book available for purchase? If not , do you know where I can get schematic diagrams of the pilot? Thanks John Quirk ( Sea-Finn)
Don, Tom of Sea Angel here. My wife and I, Bonni, started this Ning site. I just got an email from someone looking to buy a Pilot 35, but our site is limited to actual owners/previous owners. He is interested in getting a copy of your book. If you would like to contact him, his info is below.
There was a small gathering of pilot owners in Annapolis last Saturday. We heard about your book and would very much like a copy. Please let me know how to secure one
Hi Don,Sorry I should've included the original name and hull number. She was originally called "Sea Fever" 3557 HRH#1159 I'm considering returning her to the original name but I have objection to "Glide" either. I would very much like one of your "signed" copies even if there is no reference to my boat. I will send a check out later today.
Thank you,

Yes! Jupiter has a spot in my heart that is close to my dog of 17 years who sailed in Jupiter, STAR. I had full documentation and letters from S&S, and a personal letter from Rod Stevens that I gave to Mr Lochead when Jupiter passed to his hands.. Jupiter lived in berth 39 Clipper harbor for 17 years while Dorothy Wong Farrell ( my first wife & I owned her. Rod Stevens and I contacted each other and those letters too went with J when she passed to her third owner. I am so pleased that you have recognised the South American provinance. I will keep in touch and would love to provide any information that I have regarding the Chilean Pilots
I sailed JUPITER Chilean Pilot 35 X1 from 1973 to 1991. I first saw her in Newport Beach where she arrived bringing her owner Charlie Kay to America. His voyage mostly singlehanded was recounted to me as we became friends. He later moved to Spain with his wife Mary. Mary and Charlie came to San Francisco and spent an afternoon on the Bay sailing his former yacht once more. Jupiter went to a new owner in 1991. Mr Lochead sold her in the mid 1990's I believe she may now be in the Northeast.

Hello Don and Jane.
I have seen the comments regarding your book Pilot 35.
I am interested in your book. How do I get paid.
I should add that I have in my possession information about the Pilot 35 built by ASMAR (Chilean Navy Yard) and particularly the invoices and orders for construction of the sailboat that I am buying a PILOT 35 name CYGNUS, whose first name was Peter Pan. There is accurate data of sailboats: Cygnus, Equinox, Southern Cross, Yagan, Ona, My Way (to repair).
These boats were built late 1968 and entered the 70s or so. The Chilean Navy has sent technicians to the U.S., brought to Chile the molds, and manufactured in the order of 12 to 13 fiber boats, they have steel frames and a ship hull of 1.30 inches thick. The Navy was looking for a boat, safe and very seaworthy for the training of naval officers. Later it was sold to private and now keeps one or two of them.
