opening ports to replace the fixed portlights?

Hi- I now own the last Pilot 35 made. She is located on San Francisco Bay, and had the name Gygax before I renamed it Titanikós - for good luck.

I saw a long ago post on this forum that had no responses, but it addressed an idea that I had as well, to replace the fixed port lights with opening ports. Apparently, almost nobody ever does this, as I thought I might find some item somewhere on the internet about somebody's ventilation improvement project, but without any luck. If anyone has any advice about this, please share it. Thanks! Kirk

have considered this for Edel, our pilot yawl. spartan marine makes ports that look to be a good option.

Thanks for your comment , Charles.  It would be interesting to discuss with anyone who has done the replacement.  I wonder, for example, what would be the most practical size to fit into the openings, and how to make sure the finished product is secure and leakproof.  - Kirk
