Sailing Yachts

Anyone have an idea on what the “designed“ height off the deck is for the gooseneck on a P35? (don’t think would matter, but sloop rig) Former owner of our boat raised it really high, putting a stopper in the track, recut the main, and installed extra tall dodger so as to not have to duck when tacking. In the process of moving it back down with new dodger and main, but what ballpark height off of the deck are everyone else’s goosenecks? Thanks in advance for the help!

Well that’s about as logical as it gets. Thank you and makes total sense. 4’ “feels” high, but will start there. Thanks again 👍

The I dimension (height of the rig off the deck) for a standard sloop rig is 40.25' and the P dimension (the mainsail luff) is 35.08'. So, 5.2' less the height of the house; roughly 4'. I'd hoist a tape on your main halyard and measure down the 35' mainsail luff length. Can't go wrong with that method.
