search for pilot #1130

I am trying to find the person who bought Harpoon from my father. she was originally owned by benjamin goodman of new york. My father, Harold DeOrlow owned her in North Palm Beach, florida. her HRH# is 1130. her sail number is 3538. I would love to know who has her now.. so if you are sailing and see her number.. please have them join us!

fair winds to you all!

Sorry about that-- my bad-- old sail number was 3585. It was easy to make the offending number an '8' so that's the source of my confusion--

HI! Yes, I have the wood grate near the base of the companionway ladder, with the pan below. It's the access to the bilge pump area. If LIBERTE' had a bariograph, it was taken out long ago.

LIBERTE' is a yawl, and she was built in 1967, HRH hull 1217, to Sparkman & Stephens design no. 1215 (Pilot). All woodwork and hatches have '3588' in pencil on the reverse sides, which corresponds to her production number as the 88th Pilot35. The prior owner had bought a used mainsail from another Pilot owner across Long Island Sound with the number 3538, but I changed it with the local PHRF committee back to 3588.

I did a number of upgrades to LIBERTE' and have made her easy to single-hand, which is great for a couple or sailing with non-sailors. A yawl is an absolute joy to sail, and a lot safer in heavy weather (just go with jib and mizzen).

I absolutely love this boat-- and have had some long wonderful cruises on her. She's great for a couple or a small family-- but I recently married a guy with an S&S Swan 44... so guess whose boat is sailed these days (!).

All the best!

We have a classified ad coming out September 1, in PointsEast and Latitude 38 in hopes of locating more Pilot 35s. We might have some luck finding Harpoon.

Suzanne,
We would like you to use your boat name as the registered name rather than your first and last name. Also, we would like your homeport as the official address. Now that you are signed up, it is easy to do. Go to your page, and in the top right-hand green box, click on settings. You will see your name, just change that to your boat's name. Also, under birthday, choose "don't display". Under gender, we prefer you choose "Don't display". If you fill in the zip code for your homeport, it will list that as your city and state. Thanks!
