Nebaras, a custom, did have AC at one time but it had already been pulled by the time I took over stewardship. It appears as though the unit was installed in the port cockpit locker, on a shelf that is fiber glassed to the hull.
I recently had installed a Dometic Turbo 8000 under the starboard v berth on Liberty. It is a tight fit and the largest unit that could be installed without separating the condenser and blower. Works great in NE but not sure it would be enough in the South. Ducting is run though bottom of closest and out top of closet shelf in main cabin.
Thanks so much for the response. My yard was planning on placing that exact dometic unit but in the hanging locker. Under the v birth seems a better place. Where did they place the air intake grill. Also I received some fairly high quotes. Was yours at least reasonable. Thank you
I had them squeeze the unit under the v berth because I did not want to take up the hanging locker space. Much better. Intake grill is right under the starboard v berth in place of top drawer and outake grill is on the shelf on top of the hanging locker in main cabin so it is hidden. I may do an outake in the v berth area but want to see how it goes before I make more holes. Quotes were not reasonable but I sucked it up as we do a lot of sleeping on boat. I would have your yard speak with Eric at Cool Boats in Mystic CT to get exact set up. Works well and looks good.
