Hinckley Pilot 35

Sailing Yachts

I am thinking about putting in a wood burning stove on Morning Star. Anyone with any experience on your own Pilot with one? I think some originally came with one and maybe others were installed years later.

thanks for your help.

Jay,

I have one that I took out years ago. I think it is s tiny tot which burned small pieces of wood and/or charcoal. It did fine but required frequent feeding and ash removal which occasionally made a mess. I removed the tiny tot and put in a Force 10 propane cabin heater. This product was apparently bought by Dickerson and I believe is still available: https://www.westmarine.com/dickinson-cozy-cabin-propane-heater-2374.... If you already have propane it is pretty simple to add the heater. I think they also made a diesel model but I don't see any references. Let me know if you are interested in my Tiny Tot, best to email me.

Hi John,

Thanks so much for your generous offer. I am leaning toward a cleaner solution as you mentioned.

All the best.
