Hinckley Pilot 35

Sailing Yachts

Does anyone know the hull speed for a 35.  Sailed mine this weekend in 18-19 knot wind and hit 7+ speed close hauled.

Hull Speed - I have always used a formula which is 1.34 x the square root of the waterline length.

For the Pilot that would be 5x1.34 which equals maximum hull speed. Of course when we are surfing downwind this does not apply

I dont know the arithmetical answer, but I think you're about there.  That's about as fast as my Dorothy has ever gone.  Once it was in the company of orca whales!
