We would like you to use your boat name as the registered name rather than your first and last name. Also, we would like your homeport as the official address. Now that you are signed up, it is easy to do. Go to your page, and in the top right-hand green box, click on settings. You will see your name, just change that to your boat's name. Also, under birthday, choose "don't display". Under gender, we prefer you choose "Don't display". If you fill in the zip code for your homeport, it will list that as your city and state. Thanks!
I'm delighted to hear from you and learn more of the story of JUPITER. We knew she had sailed from Chile in 1973 and that she landed in Newport Beach, CA. Our son, Chris, spotted and photographed her in Sausalito sometime in the 1980s. Did you berth her there? We'd love to have more details on JUPITER's history. Sometime in the 1990s, SAILING (not SAIL) magazine had an article about her restoration on Lake Michigan and referred to her as a "Hinckley Pilot." The Hinckley Co. wrote the magazine to advise that JUPITER was indeed a Chilean Pilot albeit made from the mold Hinckley sent to Vina del Mar (at the request of Miguel Depolo around 1969 ) which contained the talaria cove stripe. There was another Chilean Pilot, CALYPSDO, which reportedly sailed to the west coast of the United States but we know nothing more about her. It is most gratifying that the history of the Pilot class, including the Chilean Pilots, continues which such enthusiastic interest to this day.

For several weeks I have been very close to Cygnus (a Chilean Pilot), even had the opportunity to sail for a few hours sailing this weekend, a fantastic day.
The Cygnus, had the first name Peter Pan, but switched to Cygnus in the mid-70s and then has not changed.
Love to have additional information from the Chilean Pilot, if you have it, and copy or photograph any of them.
The little information I have comes from Chilean Pilot owners, staff of the Chilean Navy and a book published in 1993 the "History of Sailing in Chile".
